13 FEB 2019 ~ Another round of wet weather is here in Northern California. We can use the rain, especially after 5 plus years of drought !! I do Love the rain, so today I'll be curled up on my sofa with some Hot Tea and Meesu by my side !!
Will accept any little ray of Sunshine right now !! This storm has been weird, it has torrential downpour one minute and then the sun comes out for another few minutes and then back to rain. It's like it can't make up it's mind, rain or sunshine !!
Hugs & Thanks for whatever Sun I get today !! Niwi
Niwi ~ I will enjoy the rain from my sofa !! Going to fix a cup of tea and maybe Meesu will join me !! >^^<
Maybe the sun rays came for me when I went to the Dr.s this morning because I had to use my Sunglasses going there and coming home !! Thank You for that little ray of Sunshine this morning !!
I'm sending you some sunrays from here, it's rather cold in the morning but we have a spring sky in the afternoon !
Superb grey set sweetie. Enjoy the rain ;-)
Hugs!

Incogneato ~ I keep in touch with my Aunt and I started calling after the fire was on the News. I was able to talk to her a day after they had to leave and it broke my heart when she began crying !! The shock was so overwhelming that she just couldn't believe it !! They are not going to rebuild because both are in their late 80's and just can't go thorough the hassle and worry another fire might rip through the area again. They have bought a small house in Chico, Ca. and when the weather is better I am going to visit !! It took weeks before they knew that most of their neighbors were ok, and one older Lady & her dog didn't make it out. It is so sad that I get choked up even now !
I hope your island has a plan for evacuation if a fire did happen. Being on an island with nowhere to go except by boat would be terrifying !! I definitely would have a boat or at least a raft !! I have been to mainland British Colombia and Vancouver Island half a dozen times. I have a friend that lives in Sequim, WA. and we took the ferry from Port Angeles. I celebrated my 16th birthday in Kamloops !! A long, long time ago !! =D
Kate O British Columbia (like Northern California) saw unprecedented forest fire last summer. It would likely take less than 20 minutes for fire to rip through our island. People are diligent about clearing out potential fuel, but we have tourists and teens (not to mention the occasional inebriated lout!) You cannot fully prepare and we have a good but small fire department.
My heart broke for the people of Paridise.
Hugs & Thanks Dear Friend !! Incogneato ~ I lived in fire country (Penn Valley) and was almost evacuated one year. My Sister & Hubby still live up there and each year they worry about fire. Thankfully the Fire Dept. takes the clearing of land around structures seriously, so each year they visit to verify if the brush, etc. has been cleared. If not they will send people out to do it at the homeowners expense !! They had to evacuate overnight a couple of years ago, so they hooked the trailer up and stayed at the Fairgrounds in Grass Valley. Really scary business !! My Aunt & Uncle and Cousin lost their homes to the fire in Paradise, CA a few months ago. The devastation was beyond imaginable !!
