HalfMoonRun I know, I was watching something about overtourism in general and this number about Venice just stuck with me, but of course there are many other places facing the same issues. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if people behaved abroad as they would at home, but because they are not home is a lot of anything goes attitude going on. Not by all, but too many to be healthy. Too many people forget that when they leave a mess behind there are always locals who have to give up their own time cleaning it up which is not a fair ask

(Venice is such a beautiful city rich in history. This flood of tourists is an abomination. And you have definitely seen the gigantic size of the cruise ships! - which, if they weigh more than 40,000 tonnes, can no longer dock in Venice. What I cannot understand is why with the awareness that is being raised, we are still witnessing such a type of tourism that is absolutely insensitive, of course, to the environment but also to the Venetians who have to endure this. From June 1, organized tours of more than 25 people will be prohibited in the historic center of Venice.)
