31 OCT 2020 ~ Hopefully all the little Trick or Treaters will be able to celebrate tonight !!
Definitely not a normal Halloween this year, but, they are creative can do Kids !!
Kate O It's quite alright, I'll say this in conclusion (for now as I'm sure we'll talk about other stuff). Trump was a lesson. if you look at his past it was always going to be a stretch that he'd turn out to be the right man for the job. I can't say I'm surprised it ended in tears. But the it goes to show is that you cannot just say you're great because of what you're parents/grandparents have done. It is a continuing job. Some days the best you can do will have to suffice and greatness is not on the cards, but other days it is. Other presidents will be humble and skilled enough to try and make it work. I hope and pray that the Biden/Harris ticket succeeds. I know one thing, they will try and if everyone does the future might just surprise you in a positive way
sandra ~ I knew #45 would not accept the outcome of the election, but not to the extent that has transpired !! Obviously his malignant Narcissism is worse than I thought and it makes me feel like he will have a major break down and do something dangerous in retaliation. He certainly has support from his administration and his followers, so, if he burned down the White House so Biden can’t live there wouldn’t surprise me, given what has happened since the election.
What a sad state of affairs, all the while America is going through a new round of Covid-19 and he’s washed his hands of it and won’t comment on it or attend any briefings. He has become a real liability to America and the world. He is one sick man-child and needs Psychiatric help.
We pretty much agree on what is wrong and what is needed to move forward, so you don’t have to feel like you have to write back. Thanks for the support!! Kate
Kate O and here I was waiting for your reply. I forgot to answer myself, sorry. Anyway, it already feels much calmer. We all need that acrioss the world. And the thing is, in an ideal world I won't have to think about politics. I could skip all of it and not worry about it, but the fact that I've heard of Mitch McConnell is not good. That guy should want a legacy of productiveness. Instead he wants to be remembered by not doing anything other then standing in the way of passing bills. At some point something must move forward in the right direction. It hasn't been the best example. Biden and Harris knowing what they are doing (and best of all making proper plans) is reassuring for everyone.
sandra ~ I can only imagine how other countries are feeling now. These past 4 years have been horrible for American Allies watching and listening to a malignant Narcissist spew lies, threats and gleefully inciting violence and hatred from his supporters ! I don’t believe the ties have been permanently severed and we can.reunite and move forward with trust, support and respect. Biden/Harris have a difficult task ahead because we still have a Republican Congress who will thwart everything that the new Administration wants and needs to do to correct all the wrongs done by DT and Cronies. Deja Vu from Obama’s Administration thanks to McConnell, who won re-election again !! Tough times ahead, but, we can make it happen ! I! Thanks for your support and kind words. It means a lot to me !! Kate
Kate O I knew you'd be happy about that you're not alone in this. It was such a relief for you and us (the rest of the world). I have no doubt that having a family man at the head of the country will do a lot of good. Someone who understands people and real life. It's time for a bit of calm and opportunities for everyone.
sandra ~ Well my Friend, seems America has a new President- elect !! I couldn’t be happier !!
Hopefully we can get rid of the COVID-19 soon too !! America needs a fresh start come January 20th 2021 !! Let’s hope we can work together and start to heal !!
Kate O It's always a good idea to keep your head down on days like these. I am not surprised that they are protesting. It's pointless, we all saw the writing on the wall though. Better days are coming, so yes, Christmas planning is perfect for now. have fun with it
Our Governor is trying to appeal to the people who are reluctant to wear masks by basically giving them the opportunity to comply and avoid another lockdown. Unfortunately given recent incidents regarding the election, many are angry enough to lash out so complying with the request will be challenged and potentially can turn violent per recent Twitter, email and FB posts. What I am reading and seeing has me concerned about our safety.
I’m going to concentrate on the Christmas season and keep my head down !!
Kate O thought I'd already answered sorry. I hope you don't have another lockdown. Here I'm told we are just over the height of it. Hope it is true because like you this has been a depressing year (on top of what happened last year of course) so it is time for this to be sorted out and over.
I love Christmas ornament shopping as well. hope I get to do that this year as well. I am so glad you can do this together with your daughter. It's always fun to compare collections
sandra ~ So far Northern California is not in lockdown, but I think it will happen soon !! Too many people are refusing to wear a mask, for whatever their reasons ! In general I don’t wish them harm, but, I also don’t have much sympathy for them if they contract COVID-19. It’s the innocent people they infect that has my sympathy.
2020 has been one stressful depressing year so far and that’s why I need a little fun and happiness with the Christmas season !! I have already started my Christmas shopping for my Munchkins !! After they were born I continued my tradition of Christmas Eve PJ’s and a Hallmark Ornament, which I started with my Daughter. As she got older the PJ’s stopped but the ornaments didn’t. Rachel now has over 45 Hallmark ornaments. I collect them too and have well over 100. Some I bought and some given to me !! So, you could say I really do love Christmas !! ;)
Kate O fair is fair, I can't fault the reason for the the season naturally, it is just the things added onto it. The expenses and the social pressures most of all (aside from the whole jingle bell thing). So many memories and experiences can too easily taint the holiday. I like the idea of it though.
Hope you can hang in there as well. We're back in lockdown. Could have been avoided if we acted in September, but you know how it goes. I'm just hoping it's shorter this time since like you I need something to be cheerful about.
sandra ~ Yes, Christmas can be very stressful !! There are so many reasons people get stressed; crowded stores, time, money, family issues, etc . . . For me, I Love everything about Christmas !! The music, the food, buying and wrapping gifts, decorating the house and most importantly "The Reason for the Season !!
This year things will be different with more pressure, stress and high emotions because of Covid-19, but I won't let that get me down !! I need a reason to be happy and celebrate even with the pandemic raging.
Hang in there Sweetie !!
