I think that the association of black and pink goes back to "La Belle Époque" (late nineteenth century until the First World War, 1914).
It is certain, however, that Gabrielle Chasnel, known as Coco Chanel (1883-1971), and Elsa Schiaparelli (1890 Rome-1973 Paris), a Rome-born fashion designer who ran a "maison de haute couture" in Paris from the 1930s to the 1950s have both often proposed this duet of colours.
