My Mom used to make Beef Stew, but, not for St. Patty's Day !! My Dad loved Corned Beef & Cabbage ( as I do ) so that was our tradition !! Never had Chicken Stew, I may have to try it ! Happy Day Celebrating Ireland and St. Patrick's Day on Sunday !! Hugs to You and Yours !! HalfMoonRun
you are welcome.
we would all be very happy to have you with us, O Kate .
for your information, and this is the only one breach of the traditional recipe, our Irish stew is made with grain chicken and not with lamb ♥
I think I'll come celebrate with You !! Your menu sounds wonderful !! I am not a hard liquor drinker, so the beer, green or not will be my libation !! Probably a pint of Guinness or Smithwicks, both are full bodied. Not much into Irish Stew if it's made of Lamb. I know that Corned Beef & Cabbage is not a true Irish dish, but, an Irish American variation of Bacon & Cabbage. Love Soda Bread !!
Have a Fun Sunday celebrating St. Patrick's Day !! " taitneamh a bhaint as an la "
( " Enjoy the day " ) Hugs !! Kate O. HalfMoonRun
oh yes! we will celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
on Sunday, there will be the parade on St. Catherine Street, a major shopping street in Montréal, and an evening meal with family and friends, with and without Irish roots.
on the menu: potato and Irish cheddar rolls, Irish stew, Irish apple cake with custard sauce and Irish coffee (all homemade following recipes from the family of Lili Marie's father who has Irish ancestors) or an old Irish whiskey for those old enough to drink alcohol or, for those who are not old enough, Franklin & Sons Ltd.'s ginger beer.
wonderful Sunday to you too and Sláinte! O Kate ♥
Thank You Carole & Lili Marie !! Hope your Sunday is wonderful, whether you celebrate St Patricks day or not !! I am going to indulge in Corned Beef & Cabbage and some green beer !! =D HalfMoonRun
