When you're creating a set, I'm sure most of you have noticed that there are a series of 'tabs' with drop-down boxes above your artboard? "SET" is where you do all your saving or deleting. There's "QUICK SAVE DRAFT" but there's an option to save & name your work with "SAVE DRAFT". Similarly, "OPEN DRAFT" reveals everything that's been saved, whereby you can easily delete stuff.

I delete drafts all the time. Go to the create section and then choose "open draft" and there will be an option to delete on each one there. Does not work on sets that are published though.
