A few years ago my Hubby and I took off from Cancun in a rental car heading to Isla Holbox where there is a flamingo sanctuary. We got lost in the jungle of the Yucatan Peninsula for hours, finally we found the boat launch and arrived on the island only to discover that the Flamingos had gone for the season. Still, it was a great adventure!
